Job summary

Middletown YMCA in Middletown, DE is seeking a part-time Senior Group Exercise Instructor to lead energizing, safe and educational group classes, helping youth, teens and adults toward healthier living.

You will answer member questions, build authentic relationships within the YMCA community, maintain attendance records and follow all safety policies and procedures while promoting the mission of the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Leads energizing group classes and supports members in goal attainment.
• Maintains knowledge of wellness trends to provide accurate information.
• Must have 2 formats or advanced level training in area of specialty.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe, engaging group exercise classes as directed by supervisor.

Rate of pay: $16.73 – $25.09. Final compensation is based on factors such as skills, qualifications, and experience.

• Leads energizing, fun, safe, and educational group classes, as directed by the supervisor, to accomplish the YMCA mission and goals.
• Answers questions from members to support them in achieving their goals related to healthy living. Maintains working knowledge of wellness and trends to provide effective information and support to members.
• Builds effective, authentic relationships with members; helps members connect with each other and the YMCA.
• Keeps accurate class attendance records.
• Follows YMCA policies and procedures; responds to emergency situations.
• Must have knowledge and skill to teach at least 2 formats OR advanced level training in area of specialty.

Preferred Qualifications

• National Group Exercise Certification (ACE, AFAA, ACSM, or NETA) and/or BS in related field
