Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an experienced hydrogeologist to join our Water Team in Boise, Idaho. This mid-career role focuses on groundwater resources, aquifer characterization, and municipal supply projects, with duties spanning field investigations, design, data interpretation, and regulatory reporting.

You will mentor staff, collaborate with engineers and regulators, and contribute to business development while delivering reliable water solutions for communities in Idaho and the western U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Geoscience, or a related field.
• 6 to 10+ years of progressive hydrogeologic consulting or water resources experience.
• Experience conducting field investigations and implementing groundwater resource projects.
• Experience permitting, designing, and overseeing drilling, construction, and testing of municipal supply wells.
• Experience preparing technical reports and regulatory permitting documents.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, or willingness to obtain certification with Jacobs support.
• Professional Geologist (PG) in Idaho or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Conduct groundwater projects including aquifer characterization, groundwater supply planning, water rights evaluations, and well design.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across Jacobs and clients.
• Perform field investigations, well drilling and testing programs, and data collection.
• Develop conceptual site models, pumping analyses, and permitting documents.
• Communicate effectively with clients and regulatory agencies; contribute to business development and proposals.
