Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. seeks an experienced hydrogeologist to join the Water Team in Boise, Idaho. You will work on groundwater projects from aquifer characterization to municipal well design, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and clients across the western US.

You will mentor junior staff, contribute to technical excellence, and help win work through strong communication and proposal support. The role blends field investigations with office analysis in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Science, Geoscience, or related field.
• 6 to 10+ years of progressive hydrogeologic consulting or water resources experience.
• Experience conducting field investigations and groundwater resource projects.
• Experience permitting, designing, and overseeing drilling, construction, and testing of municipal supply wells.
• Experience preparing technical reports and regulatory permitting documents.
• Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills.
• 40-hour HAZWOPER certification, or willingness to obtain certification with Jacobs support.
• Professional Geologist (PG) in Idaho or ability to obtain Idaho licensure within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Work on aquifer characterization and groundwater supply planning.
• Evaluate water rights and municipal supply well permitting and design.
• Perform aquifer recharge and recovery studies and related water resource projects.
• Interpret hydrogeologic data, develop conceptual models, and prepare reports.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and engage with clients and regulators.
• Support proposals and business development with existing clients.
