Job summary

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to perform routine landscaping and grounds upkeep on the San Antonio campus. Under supervision, you will mow, prune, lay sod, install and maintain irrigation, and keep walkways and parking areas clean and safe.

This on-site role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid Texas driver’s license, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• Highschool diploma or GED is required.
• Valid TX driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Basic knowledge of landscaping methods and techniques.
• Familiarity with operating equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Mows, trims, and edges turf grass areas.
• Prunes trees and trims shrubs.
• Grades, seeds and lays sod.
• Maintains flowerbeds and decorative landscaping.
• Installs and maintains irrigation systems and performs minor repairs.
• Maintains walkways, driveways and parking lots; removes ice and snow.
• Reports issues with hydrants or sprinkler systems and maintains equipment.
• Performs routine cleaning and maintenance on grounds equipment.
• Adheres to established safety procedures.
• Develops advanced skills through training and development.
• Resolves routine questions and refers complex issues appropriately.
