Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a Grounds Maintenance worker to maintain lawns, beds, and walkways, and to assist with seasonal cleanups. The role requires handling plants, snow removal, and safety-first practices in a hospital environment.

The candidate should have a valid Massachusetts driver license (Class D) and the ability to lift 50 pounds. A Hoisting Engineer License (Class 2A) within 6 months is required, with at least five years of related experience.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid Massachusetts driver license (Class D).
• A valid Massachusetts Hoisting Engineer License (Class 2A) within 6 months of employment.
• Minimum of five years related experience.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed.
• Must be able to work independently and complete tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lawns through mowing, watering, fertilizing and seeding.
• Cares for planting beds/gardens by planting, mulching, pruning, and fertilizing.
• Identifies plants and performs maintenance procedures.
• Removes snow and ice; keeps roads and walkways safe.
• Seasonal cleanups including leaves and debris.
