Job summary

St. Catherine University is seeking a full-time Gardener/Groundskeeper in Saint Paul, MN. This union-represented role covers gardening, turf management, and winter snow removal, with daily tasks and inter-departmental project support.

The position requires 3+ years in horticulture, an associate degree (or undergrad study), and supervisory experience. Valid driver’s license and pesticide/applicator eligibility within 90 days are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years hands-on experience in horticulture trades.

Responsibilities

• Supervise student staff/volunteers and coordinate project work.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and irrigation systems.
• Maintain knowledge of garden plants and turf; manage lawn and tree care.
• Manage seed propagation, pruning, fertilization, and watering in greenhouse.
• Perform snow removal using Bobcat, plowing, and de-icing.
• Inspect gardens for pests, disease, and weed control; report issues.
