Job summary

Boise State University in Boise, Idaho seeks a seasoned Landscaping Technician Senior to supervise a small crew and perform advanced grounds maintenance across the campus.

You will plan planting schemes, maintain beds, trees, lawns, irrigation, and snow removal, and ensure pesticide and fertilization records are kept. A valid driver’s license is required; a professional applicator license is preferred and may be earned within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Six months of Idaho State service experience as Landscape Technician or equivalent.
• One year of flower gardening and grounds maintenance experience.
• Vocational training in landscape gardening/design may substitute experience.
• Two-year curriculum in ornamental horticulture or landscape work or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Lead landscaping and grounds maintenance work and supervise small crew.
• Train, assign work and review performance of subordinates.
• Inspect plants and manage beds, borders and planting schemes; monitor pests and disease.
• Maintain pesticide and fertilization records and ensure MSDS compliance.
• Ensure safety, quality, and timely completion of tasks; coordinate with foremen.
