Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Senior Systems Engineer for satellite command-and-control ground systems. You will develop requirements across ground infrastructure, telemetry, and space-to-ground interfaces while coordinating across hardware, software, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

The role covers verification, design reviews, and real-time mission operations with DoD/agency standards awareness, including AaaS solutions and Type 1 encryption experience.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of full lifecycle experience supporting satellite ground control systems through design, integration, test, and verification.
• Experience with satellite command and control (C2), telemetry/tracking systems, and/or ground station networks.
• Strong experience with requirements development, decomposition, traceability, and verification.
• Experience integrating space-to-ground systems requiring Type 1 encryption.
• Experience with commercial and/or government-provided Antenna-as-a-Service (AaaS) solutions.
• Understanding of the TCPED lifecycle as it applies to ground control systems.
• Understanding of modulation, demodulation, encoding, and decoding within the satellite C2 signal chain.
• Experience supporting system deployment, integration, and Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities under RMF and NIST SP 800-53.
• Experience developing and supporting system-level integration and verification plans.
• Strong systems architecture and technical leadership experience.
• Experience leading technical trade studies, performance analyses, and design/technical reviews.
• Ability to coordinate across hardware, software, cybersecurity, ground infrastructure, and operations teams.
• Familiarity with DoD and NASA mission standards and processes.
• Experience working with government agencies, defense primes, or subcontractors on satellite command-and-control systems.
• Experience supporting real-time satellite or mission operations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage requirements across command-and-control infrastructure, telemetry and tracking systems, and ground networks.
• Conduct technical trade studies and verify design changes and integration.
• Support end-to-end testing, design reviews, and customer engagements.
