Job summary

York Space Systems is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join the mission-critical team at your local Mission Operation Center. You will own end-to-end software problems, from design to deployment, with autonomy and strong collaboration with our Denver team.

You'll develop in React/TypeScript and C# .NET, maintain microservices in Docker/Kafka, and work across MSSQL, InfluxDB, and Python to enable orbit of multiple missions. Travel to Denver is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 6+ years of full-stack software engineering experience.
• Active Secret security clearance.
• Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
• Strong remote collaboration skills with distributed teams.
• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs at scale.
• Experience with SQL databases including schema design and query optimization.
• Experience with Git in a collaborative environment.
• Willingness to travel to Denver, CO for onboarding and periodic visits.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary technical resource for your local MOC with independent issue resolution.
• Provide on-call support for mission-critical operations.
• Collaborate with the Denver team for feature development and longer-term projects.
• Develop user-facing features using TypeScript, React, C#, MSSQL, InfluxDB, Kafka, and Python.
• Translate designs and requirements into high-quality, maintainable code.
• Build reusable components, shared libraries, and scalable services.
• Write unit and integration tests; validate behavior with simulations.
• Write documentation for internal users and customers.
• Mentor junior engineers and participate in sprint ceremonies.
• Contribute to engineering best practices across the team.
