Job summary

EPRI is seeking a Ph.D.-level researcher to lead advanced power systems analysis within the Transmission Operations and Planning R&D program. You will develop real-time tools for oscillation management, inertia estimation, and robust simulations addressing inverter-based resources.

You will collaborate with research leads and industry members, delivering technical reports and supporting business development while meeting multi-project deadlines.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in electrical or computer engineering with focus on power systems.
• Expertise in dynamics, stability and control of power systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Matlab or C++ for research tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop methods and software tools for real-time system operations, including oscillations management and inertia estimation.
• Conduct modeling and simulation of large-scale power systems with inverter-based resources and prepare technical reports.
• Support real-time simulator and hardware-in-the-loop implementations.
