Job summary

Savion, a Shell Group portfolio company, seeks a Senior Greenfield Origination Specialist to lead landowner relationships and initiate utility-scale solar projects across the US footprint. You will manage negotiations, coordinate with legal and development teams, and drive early-stage development, including ESAs and interconnection steps.

The role requires 5+ years (Manager) or 7+ years (Senior Manager) of related experience, strong regulatory communication, and travel up to 35%+.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ or 7+ years of experience depending on level
  • Familiarity with land use, environmental regulations, and permitting processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication, including presenting to agencies and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated multi-project management across teams and budgets

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead landowner relations as Savion’s primary representative in land acquisition and early development.
  • Skip trace landowner contacts and develop strategies to overcome dead-ends and roadblocks.
  • Initiate and drive negotiations, close real estate agreements for projects from hundreds to thousands of acres.
  • Coordinate CRM and GIS-based interactions across internal and external teams.
  • Manage external counsel for timely real estate contracts and documentation.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure site control and risk mitigation.
  • Support identification and execution of greenfield opportunities from siting through approvals.

Position Summary

Savionis looking foralandowner/client facinggreenfieldoriginationspecialistwho will work independently and efficiently toinitiatenewutility-scalesolar, BESS, andenergy infrastructureprojectsacross Savion’s US footprint.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and lead trusted relationships with landowners, serving as Savion’s primary representativethroughout the land acquisition and early-stage development process.
  • Skip tracing landowner contactsbyleveragingonline resources (both paid and open source) and creatively overcomingapparentdead-ends and roadblocks.
  • Cold-calling and creatinglandownerinterest,initiatinganddrivingnegotiations,and closingreal estateagreementstocreate projects ranging from500 acresto more than20,000 acres.
  • Trackingandmaintainingclient/landownerinteractionsutilizingCRM,GIS&reportingresourcesshared with internal and external teams.
  • Managing external counsel totimelyproduce,reviseand closereal estate contracts.
  • Supportothers in theidentificationand executionof greenfieldopportunitiesby evaluatingprospective sitesthrua commercial and risk lensto ensuretimelyand efficientproject initiation.
  • Initiate Phase 1 ESAs &critical issuesanalysisofnew projectstorule out early-stage fatal flaws.
  • Coordinateproject interconnection processfor new projects.
  • Coordinate title curative and mineral waiverprocessesas necessary.
  • Partner cross-functionally (real estate, permitting, development, legal) to ensuresite controlagreements support downstream execution and minimize risk
  • Efficiently and effectively handoffearly-stageprojects to regional development teams once site control,interconnectapplication, and fatal flawclearancesare completed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Planning, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years (Manager) or 7+ years (Senior Manager) of experience
  • Significant familiarity with land use, environmental regulations, and permitting processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including comfort and experience presenting projects to regulatory agencies, elected officials, planning commissions and other community stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated project management skills across multiple concurrent projects, consultants, and budgets

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4 yearcollege degree

  • A proven ability toinitiateandclose real estate agreements at a highvolume

  • ProficiencyinCRM,GIS,Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Power-Point, etc.
  • Proven ability to adapt to shifting priorities,technologies,market demands and otherforcesthatinfluencetheday-to-dayworkplan.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 35%+ of time
