Job summary

Block Information Security invites a senior engineer to help scale governance through data pipelines, policy-as-code, and agentic AI workflows. You will turn complex risk and asset signals into auditable, automated controls across Block's infrastructure.

You will collaborate with Security Governance, Compliance, and Engineering teams to push continuous monitoring, evidence collection, and automated auditing, shaping the future of Block’s security posture.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production software in backend, platform, data, or security engineering.
• Proficiency with at least one of Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go, and comfort reading unfamiliar codebases.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agent frameworks; strong opinion on model judgment vs automation.
• Experience with integration patterns: REST APIs, webhooks, authentication flows, event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate pipelines that aggregate, normalize, and join signals from multiple systems across Block.
• Translate security standards into policy-as-code; enforceable, testable checks that run continuously.
