Job summary

Block Information Security is seeking a seasoned engineer to scale governance automation. You will design data pipelines, policy-as-code, and agentic AI workflows—to turn governance into scalable products.

You will own integration patterns, ensure auditability, and collaborate with Security Governance, Compliance, and Engineering to prioritize impactful work. This is an early-stage program with broad scope and high impact.

Qualifications

• 7+ years building production software in backend, platform, data, or security engineering.
• Proven ownership of a production system, including on-call, SLOs, and maintenance after launch.
• Proficiency in Python, Kotlin, Java, or Go; ability to read unfamiliar codebases.
• Hands-on experience building with LLMs and agentic workflows; know where model judgment belongs.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate pipelines that aggregate risk, control, and asset signals across Block.
• Translate standards into policy-as-code: enforceable, tested rules that run continuously.
• Design agentic AI workflows with deterministic, auditable decision layers for evidence analysis and monitoring.
• Build evaluators, benchmarks, and calibration harnesses to ensure governance quality.
• Automate evidence collection and continuous control monitoring for audits.
• Define technical direction for ambiguous problems across teams.
