Job summary

Call Your Mother in Washington, DC is seeking a Senior Graphic Designer to lead packaging, menus, signage, and digital assets with bold personality. Youll own production from concept to final delivery and collaborate across Marketing, Operations, IT, and Culinary to keep our visuals energetic and on-brand.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of design experience, strong Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign skills, and a thoughtful approach to print and digital formats.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional graphic design experience and a portfolio demonstrating both original creativity and excellent execution, preferred experience in growing restaurant, hospitality, food, beverage, or lifestyle brands.
• Expert-level Adobe Creative Suite skills, particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
• Strong technical knowledge of print production, packaging, dielines, colors, materials, and vendor-ready artwork.
• Experience designing across physical and digital formats, including merchandise, social media, websites, and email.
• Experience working directly with production vendors and managing projects from creative concept through final delivery.
• Great taste, a sense of humor, curiosity, and an appreciation for design that doesn't take itself too seriously.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
• A resourceful, hands-on mentality. You're comfortable taking ownership, figuring things out, and getting things done.
• Any additional experience in photography, video, or motion design skills; or familiarity with website CMS tools, email platforms, and emerging creative technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design all the things. Create packaging, menu boards, signage, merchandise, print materials, and digital assets for social media, templated emails, and our website.
• Take ideas from concept to reality. Create technically accurate, production-ready artwork, packaging dielines, and specifications, with a strong understanding of materials, printing methods, and costs.
• Own our creative production partners. Manage relationships with printers, fabricators, merchandise suppliers, and other production vendors. Coordinate quotes, timelines, proofs, approvals, and quality control to deliver great work on time and on budget.
• Bring the creativity. Brainstorm campaigns, LTOs, shop openings, brand moments, and unexpected ideas that make people smile and keep Call Your Mother interesting.
• Keep us looking like us. Protect and evolve our visual identity, finding the sweet spot between thoughtful design and the playful, purposefully unpolished personality that makes Call Your Mother special.
• Own the details. Manage multiple projects, maintain organized files and current versions, catch errors before they reach our shops, and find smart, cost-effective ways to get things done.
• Be part of the team. Collaborate closely with Marketing, Operations, People & Culture, IT, Culinary and our founders to turn ideas into reality, quickly and thoughtfully.
