Job summary

Gainesville Neon & Signs is seeking a hands-on Graphic Designer to create signage and graphics and help bring designs to life through production.

You will work on vehicle graphics, storefront branding, and wayfinding, collaborating with a team in a fast-paced environment with weekends off.

This full-time role includes paid training, competitive hourly pay, and opportunities to learn fabrication and installation techniques across a variety of community projects.

Qualifications

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in the sign, print, graphics, or visual communications industry preferred.
• Strong understanding of print production and file preparation.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work orders to create accurate sign layouts and designs.
• Design custom signage, graphics, and visual branding solutions.
• Prepare print-ready files and ensure artwork meets production requirements.
• Review and modify customer-supplied artwork for optimal results.
• Determine layout, typography, sizing, colors, and graphic placement.
• Coordinate with customers and team members to expedite proofs and approvals.
• Operate vinyl plotters to produce cut-vinyl graphics and lettering.
• Assist with large-format printing and production quality checks.
• Perform quality control reviews before and after production.
• Assist with production tasks including installations and fabrication steps.
• Support CNC operations and other sign fabrication processes.
• Assist with on-site sign installations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Gainesville Neon & Signs is looking for a Graphic Designer to join our team. This is more than a traditional design position. We're seeking a creative professional who can design impactful signage and contribute to the production process that brings those designs to life.

From vehicle graphics and dimensional signs to storefront branding and wayfinding systems, you'll play a key role in creating visual solutions that help businesses stand out. Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret work orders to create accurate sign layouts and designs.
• Design custom signage, graphics, and visual branding solutions using Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Prepare print-ready files and ensure artwork meets production requirements.
• Review and modify customer-supplied artwork for optimal print and fabrication results.
• Determine layout, typography, sizing, colors, and graphic placement based on design objectives and production specifications.
• Coordinate with customers and team members to expedite proofs, revisions, and artwork approvals.
• Operate vinyl plotters to produce cut-vinyl graphics and lettering.
• Assist with large-format printing and ensure production quality standards are met.
• Perform quality control reviews before and after production to ensure accuracy and consistency.
• Assist with production tasks, including vinyl application, weeding, laminating, mounting prints, cutting, painting, and substrate preparation.
• Support CNC operations and other sign fabrication processes.
• Assist with on-site and off-site sign installations as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For:

• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in the sign, print, graphics, or visual communications industry is preferred.
• Strong understanding of print production and file preparation.
• Valid driver's license.
• Able to work on school campuses.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
• Comfortable using power tools and production equipment.
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn all aspects of the sign-making process.

Competitive pay based on experience:

Minimal to Moderate Experience - $18-$23 hourly

Moderate to Extensive Experience - $23-$30 hourly

Full-time schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
