Job summary

FASTSIGNS is hiring a Full-time Production & Graphic Design Specialist to design, produce, and install custom sign projects. You will move, lift, and assemble items for signs on various substrates, indoors and outdoors, requiring heights and physical effort.

You’ll use Adobe Illustrator and other tools with a focus on quality and meeting work orders. This role offers ongoing training, a positive team culture, and growth opportunities in the sign industry.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of graphic design experience.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium.
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application including cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc.
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images; adjust techniques by size, vinyl type, and image complexity.
• Operate and maintain printers and routers.
• Perform quality checks pre- and post-production by reading Work Orders and proofreading for errors.

As a Graphic Production & Graphic Design Specialist, you’ll play an important role in getting custom sign projects designed, produced, and in place so everyone can see it - in the ground, on a wall, on a vehicle or hanging from a ceiling. You’ll use a variety of tools to assemble, erect and hang items, both inside and out. Fear of heights is not in your vocabulary! In fact, most of your days will be spent moving, lifting and building for a wide variety of sign installations.

A Successful FASTSIGNS Production & Graphic Design Speciaist will:

• Follow a layout to place computer-cut vinyl or full-color graphic image(s) on a predetermined substrate or medium
• Prepare substrates for vinyl application to include cutting, painting, laminating, cleaning, etc
• Weed excess vinyl from computer-cut images. Weeding techniques vary with size, type of vinyl, and complexity of images
• Operate and maintain printers and routers
• Perform quality assurance measures pre- and post-production by accurately reading and interpreting a Work Order and then proofing for errors or unacceptable standards
• Perform finishing operations such as laminating and/or mounting of printed pieces
• Install completed signs on job sites using ladders, power tools, etc
• Report inventory levels and stock to be reordered to the center manager/production manager or franchisee.
• Clean and maintain work areas
• Serve as a support role to the design team using Adobe software to create designs for sign projects.

Ideal Qualifications for FASTSIGNS Graphic Designer:

• 1-2 years of graphic design experience
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
• Ability to prioritize jobs, multi-task, and work autonomously
• Determine the best output method based on the customer’s needs
• Ability to work under pressure to output high volume, high-quality work
• Ability to stand for long periods of time (4 hours or more)
• Ability to lift 50 or more pounds
• Flexibility to lean over a waist-high table and use back-and-forth hand motion to apply vinyl letters and graphics to a substrate
