Job summary

Peraton, a leading national security company, is seeking an experienced software engineer to lead cloud software R&D across the full SDLC. The role focuses on building and sustaining large-scale distributed systems and mission-critical cloud applications.

You will work with data scientists, engineers, and product managers to deliver end-to-end software services, implement CI/CD, and contribute to system performance improvements in a Unix/Linux environment.

Qualifications

Eight+ years of software development/engineering across the full SDLC.
Six+ years of experience with high-level languages (e.g., Java, C, C++).
Five+ years developing software for UNIX/Linux (RedHat).
Experience with NoSQL products (HBase, Accumulo, BigTable).
Hands-on MapReduce (Hadoop/Hive/Pig) and HDFS experience.
Proficiency with RESTful services and JSON/BSON.
Experience in requirements analysis and design of major OO systems.
Full-stack end-to-end software services delivery.
Graph-data integration and analytics with Spring Boot ecosystem.

Responsibilities

Provide cloud software research, development, and engineering services.
Lead the full SDLC from requirements to deployment of mission-critical cloud applications.
Develop end-to-end full-stack software services and test plans.
Diagnose and implement sustainable system enhancements for reliability.
Design scalable distributed systems and NoSQL data models.
Collaborate with data scientists, engineers, and product managers.
Write technical docs, ontologies, and data models.
