Job summary

The South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a seasoned grants professional to coordinate grant development and management activities. You will research funding opportunities, craft competitive proposals, and prepare budgets in collaboration with leadership and partners to secure funding.

You will provide ongoing support through all grant lifecycle stages, including expenditure tracking, procurement, and closeout activities, with a focus on large multi-year grants.

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or the social sciences and experience in contracts and grant administration activities.
• A bachelor's degree and ten years experience in business administration or the social sciences and experience in contracts and grant administration activities.
• Prefer five years proven experience in formulating, writing, editing and submitting grant applications.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify federal, state, and local funding opportunities aligning with SCDC missions and needs.
• Develop comprehensive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership and external partners to assess funding needs and prepare grant budgets and timely submissions.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance and support to project directors throughout the grant lifecycle.
• Grant writing must be in large grants.
