Job summary

South Carolina Department of Corrections seeks a skilled grants professional to coordinate grant development and management activities. The role identifies funding opportunities and develops comprehensive proposals with narratives and budgets to secure support for agency programs.

You will collaborate with agency leadership, project directors, accounting, counsel, procurement, and external partners to ensure timely submissions and rigorous grant administration throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration or social sciences required.
• 10 years of experience in contracts and grant administration activities required.
• Five or more years of proven grant writing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support grant development and grant management activities for the agency.
• Research and identify federal, state, and local funding opportunities aligned with SCDC's missions and needs.
• Develop comprehensive grant proposals, including narratives, budgets and supporting documentation.
• Collaborate with leadership, divisions, project directors, and external partners to assess funding needs and prepare competitive proposals.
• Provide ongoing technical assistance during the grant lifecycle, including expenditure tracking and budget monitoring.
