Conservation International in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Grants Manager to lead full-cycle grant and contract administration for the Seed Fund for Nature. You will ensure donor compliance, oversee sub-award management, and advise program staff on risk and process improvements.

The role requires a finance or grant management background with nonprofit experience, strong communication, and the ability to work across dispersed teams in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance-related field required.
• 7+ years in grants or finance in nonprofit sector.
• Up to 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Experience in a matrix management environment.
• Experience mentoring staff or implementing partners.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in English and in either Spanish or French.

Responsabilités

• Manage full sub-award lifecycle for grants and contracts, including agreements and closeout documentation.
• Conduct pre-award due diligence and risk assessments.
• Review financial and due diligence documents and recommend risk mitigations.
• Ensure donor, organizational, and regulatory requirements are incorporated into sub-awards, contracts, and budgets.
• Coordinate pre-award activities including field visits and negotiations.
• Interpret policies for staff, vendors, and grantees; develop guidance materials.
• Design and improve grantmaking policies, procedures, and tools.
