Job summary

The City of Raleigh North Carolina is seeking a Senior Transportation Planner to join the Transit Division’s finance team and manage a diverse portfolio of multi-year transportation projects and grant programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Transportation Planning, Engineering, or related field.
• 3 to 5 years' experience in professional urban/regional planning or transportation planning, or related work.
• Any equivalent combination of training and/or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Manage all stages of the federal and state grant lifecycle, including develop grant applications, prepare and submit required reporting, and perform financial reconciliations in accordance with award terms and requirements.
• Serve as liaison for all reviews and audits; coordinate with auditors and management to compile documentation and resolve follow-up items.
• Maintain calendar of federal and state grant deliverables; ensure timely submission of financial and programmatic requirements; navigate grant management systems (e.g., TrAMS).
• Manage the Transit Division’s multi-year project inventory; track financial activity and confirm project status for timely completion.
• Stay current on grant policies; attend trainings and provide guidance and training to staff.
