Job summary

The Grants Administrator II – Pre-award Specialist position at Calibr-Skaggs Institute (a division of The Scripps Research Institute) supports early-stage proposal development on-site at the La Jolla campus.

You will coordinate submission processes, review budgets and proposals, and ensure sponsor guidelines and compliance are maintained while advising scientists on funding opportunities and changes in regulations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a pre-award grant and contract administration office with responsibility for independent preparation and submission of proposals.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with financial information systems, grant applications and NIH accounting guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all aspects of pre-award applications and submission across stakeholders.
• Lead weekly proposal check-in meetings with PIs and grants staff.
• Review grant application documentation for accuracy and compliance.
• Ensure animal/human subject requirements are met when applicable.
