Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
• Several years of grant accounting experience with post-award focus.
• Leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong knowledge of grant compliance and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Process-improvement mindset and ability to lead change.
• Mentoring and developing others.

Responsibilities

• Lead the organization’s post-award grant accounting function.
• Supervise and mentor a team of grant accounting professionals.
• Oversee financial management for 400+ active grants ranging from thousands to millions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal, and grantor regulations.
• Prepare and review grant financial reports, reconciliations, and closeouts.
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve grant visibility and performance.
• Partner with leadership, program managers, auditors, and CPAs.
• Improve grant accounting procedures and internal controls.
• Support ERP implementation and ongoing process improvements.
• Train and develop newer accounting staff while fostering teamwork.
