Job summary

Pinion is seeking a Senior Commodity Risk Management Consultant to drive strategy, lead client advisory efforts, and grow a national agriculture-focused portfolio. You will apply advanced risk management knowledge to help producers and agribusinesses navigate futures, options, crop insurance, and cash markets.

In this role you will manage key client relationships at executive levels, develop high-impact proposals, mentor junior team members, and participate in conferences and producer meetings

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in commodity risk management, futures/options trading, physical commodity trading, agribusiness consulting, or related roles.
• Strong exposure to grain, livestock, or dairy markets with ability to advise producers and agribusinesses.
• Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships at all organizational levels.
• Detail oriented approach to navigating volatile commodity markets.
• Experience with CRM systems (Dynamics preferred) and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to leverage data platforms, CRM systems, analytics tools, and digital communication methods to drive consulting value.
• Expertise in evaluating client challenges, interpreting multifactor market scenarios, and crafting tailored, strategic recommendations.
• Series 3 license required (or obtained within 60 days of start).
• Crop insurance licensing (MPCI/LRP/DRP/PRF) preferred.
• Flexibility to travel up to 10% annually.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive risk management strategies for grain, dairy, and/or livestock clients using futures, options, crop insurance, and cash market tools.
• Manage physical commodity trading activities, including cash contracts, logistics, and procurement/marketing strategies.
• Provide expert interpretation of complex market data and advise clients with actionable recommendations.
• Conduct regular on farm and executive level client visits to strengthen relationships.
• Manage and expand a portfolio of consulting clients; leverage existing industry relationships to drive new business.
• Present high value proposals that demonstrate clear financial and operational impact.
• Engage in industry events, conferences, and producer meetings as a subject matter expert.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to firmwide thought leadership.
