The University of California, Irvine seeks a Senior Student Services Advisor to oversee graduate student services in the Samueli School of Engineering. The advisor will manage academic processes, provide guidance to students, and coordinate admissions and recruitment activities, requiring strong communication and project management skills.

Founded in 1965, the Samueli School of Engineering educates approximately 5,000 students (4,000 undergraduates and 1,000 graduates) with an integrative approach that blends fundamentals, research and hands-on experience. The Samueli School of Engineering (SSoE) offers a broad range of graduate programs, that lead to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) and Master of Science (M.S.) degrees, as well as graduate professional master's degrees. The school has currently approx. 1000 enrolled graduate students, half of them in Ph.D. and half in Master's and professional programs, trained with an integrative approach that blends fundamentals, research and hands-on experience. The Graduate Student Affairs Office (GSA) serves current and prospective graduate students within The Samueli School of Engineering in a broad scope of support which includes recruitment and admission to graduation and conferral of degrees, this office provides many services, including general counseling and advice. It collaborates with various departments on student-related issues, and the office serves as the final school-wide stop for approval of petitions, advancements to candidacy, degree conferrals and other academic processes.

The Senior Student Services Advisor (SSSA) in the Samueli School of Engineering's Graduate Student Affairs Office (GSA) unit reports to the Graduate Affairs Programs Director. This position uses skills as a seasoned, experienced student services professional to independently manage student services at the School level. The SSSA is responsible for the School-level oversight and implementation of all academic, administrative and curricular aspects of graduate programs and student affairs related to Engineering graduate programs. The SSSA advises students and resolves student services-related issues on the full range of academic issues. The SSSA leads in the implementation of program policies and procedures across all graduate programs in the school, works collaboratively with Department/Program faculty and staff as well as School and campus staff (especially in Graduate Division). The SSA is also responsible for a wide-range of tasks in support of the graduate programs in the School, which includes but is not limited to overseeing enrollment and academic standards, recruitment (both in person and online) and admissions, graduate student retention and development, coordinating and administering fellowships, commencement, assisting with data collection and analysis (related to academics and financial support), supporting the Graduate Student Committee (GSC) of Engineering faculty, and academic advising for inter-disciplinary programs.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $58,600- $70,000 (Annual).
