Job summary

McGuire and Hester in Northern California is seeking a Senior Estimator to prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and fees to assemble competitive bids. The role reports to the Division Manager of Grading and Paving and collaborates with Takeoff and Estimating teams.

The ideal candidate has a civil engineering or construction management background with 10+ years of estimating experience, strong leadership, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite. Travel to jobs may be required.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in civil engineering or construction management with 10+ years estimating experience.
• Must read/write in English; bilingual in Spanish is helpful but not required.
• Strong planning, scheduling, and budgeting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cost estimates for materials, labor, and related costs for bids.
• Coordinate quantity takeoffs with Takeoff Manager and engineers.
• Mentor and coordinate the estimating team and subcontractor quotes.
• Analyze plans, specs, and RFI needs for accurate pricing.
• Develop bid packages and present to operations team.
