Job summary

King Asphalt, Inc. seeks an experienced Grading and Earthwork Estimator to review plans, perform quantity takeoffs, and prepare competitive bids for diverse civil projects. You will identify risks, optimize costs, and work with project managers, field staff, subcontractors, and clients.

The ideal candidate understands mass grading, soil conditions, equipment production, and site preparation, with a focus on accuracy and timely bid delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience estimating grading, earthwork, and site development for heavy civil projects.
• Ability to read civil plans, grading and utility drawings, and geotechnical reports.
• Proficiency with estimating software and takeoff processes.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, reports, addenda, and bid documents.
• Prepare earthwork quantity takeoffs and cut-and-fill calculations.
• Estimate costs for sitework, utilities, paving, and earthmoving.
• Evaluate soil conditions, haul distances, and material availability.
• Develop bid proposals, scope sheets, and alternates.
• Solicit pricing from subs, vendors, and suppliers.
