Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Firmware Engineer to join the GPU Firmware Development team. You will craft and deploy core firmware for the GPU OOBHUB, focusing on secure communication and robust peripheral control, with an emphasis on active development from the ground up.

The role requires 5+ years in low-level firmware or embedded systems, expert C skills, and experience with SPI, I2C, PCIe, SMBus or MCTP. You will collaborate with hardware, software and infrastructure teams to deliver

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in low-level firmware development, embedded systems, or microcontroller programming.
• Strong background in managing peripherals and communication stacks via protocols (SPI, I2C/I3C, PCIe, SMBus, MCTP, PLDM).
• Expert-level C development skills in resource-constrained environments.
• Experience with RISC-V or similar embedded processor architectures.
• Deep understanding of software development processes, debugging methodologies, and developer-first approach.
• Excellent collaboration with hardware designers and diverse engineering groups.
• Familiarity with Ada or SPARK for high-integrity software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Core Development: Build, architect, develop, and debug firmware in the GPU OOBHUB, focusing on peripheral control and secure interfaces.
• Lifecycle & Update Systems: Optimize firmware update mechanisms and telemetry systems for GPU subsystems.
• Hardware Interface: Define firmware-hardware interfaces and communication protocols with hardware teams.
• High-Integrity Coding: Write secure, reliable firmware using modern languages and practices.
• Collaborative Innovation: Work with software, hardware, and infra teams to bring new features to production firmware.
