Job summary

AMD is seeking a Senior GPU Firmware/Software Engineer to join the Data Center Firmware Applications team. You will enable AMD Instinct accelerators on next‑generation server platforms and ensure smooth integration in data centers, collaborating with customers, OEM partners, and internal teams.

You’ll work hands-on across embedded firmware, GPU drivers, OS kernel internals, and power controls, translating hardware challenges into high‑performance software solutions while balancing hardware

Qualifications

Experience in firmware and embedded software development.
Strong knowledge of system-level debug, hardware bring-up, and performance optimization.
Familiarity with GPU architectures, OS kernel internals, and microcontroller fundamentals.
Proficiency in C/C++, scripting (Python, Bash), and Linux environments.
Understanding of server architecture, BIOS settings, and boot processes.
Experience with OpenCL, CUDA, or ROCm is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with OEM/ODM partners on CPU or GPU bring‑up, validation, and deployment.
Debug firmware, hardware, and driver issues; lead root‑cause investigations.
Develop tools to analyze CPU/GPU performance and correlate with hardware characteristics.
Optimize AI software stack across hardware and upper layers.
Support manufacturing and screening tests for reliability at scale.
Create technical documentation, guidelines, and training materials.
