Job summary

NHS Jobs in Massachusetts is seeking a General Practitioner to join our primary care team. You will provide comprehensive care through surgery consultations, home visits, and telephone consultations, and will sign prescriptions, process requests, and manage patient records.

You will work with partners to deliver evidence-based care, participate in audits, ensure timely documentation, and contribute to QOF, DES, and other practice targets.

Responsibilities

• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems.
• Assess the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients.
• Provide counselling and health education.
• Record clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards; use computer templates.
• Compile and issue computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions.
• Prescribe in line with practice standards and local/national guidelines.
• Undertake the normal duties of a GP in primary care.
