Job summary

The City of Fresno's General Services Department seeks a Senior Procurement Specialist to perform advanced procurement work and provide lead direction within the Purchasing division. You will prepare complex bids and RFPs, procure materials, and develop and review specifications to ensure compliance with laws and city policy.

Qualifications

• Forty-five (45) semester units in Business or Public Administration, Accounting, or related field.
• Two (2) years as a journey level buyer/procurement specialist with a governmental agency or large business.
• If qualifying with degree or college units, transcripts must be uploaded for verification.
• Possession of a valid California Driver’s License at time of appointment.
• Finalists may be required to pass a Department interview and DOJ fingerprint check.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complex formal and informal bids and RFPs.
• Procure materials, supplies, services, equipment, and projects.
• Develop and review specifications; conduct bid openings.
• Analyze proposals and prepare evaluation reports; support city departments.
