Job summary

Viasat is seeking a seasoned Government Contracts professional to manage a portfolio of contracts and lead negotiations for US Government, NASA and international programs, including classified work. This temporary role is tied to major development efforts and requires 9+ years in government contracts and a TS clearance or active eligibility.

Qualifications

• 9+ years of government contracts experience, including the creation of contracts, proposals and agreements.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or a related field.
• Expertise in FAR Part 15 and FAR Part 12 contracting and regulations.
• Ability to quickly comprehend business deals, provide strategic input, and tailor contractual practices and agreements to better meet company objectives.
• Knowledge of DoD acquisition policy; NASA acquisition practices a plus.
• Proficiency in reviewing and drafting contracts and strategic agreements such as Teaming Agreements, Terms Sheets, Licenses, Sales Representative Agreements.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to obtain a US Top Secret security clearance.
• Travel up to 20%.

Responsibilities

• Lead negotiations and manage contract execution across all phases.
• Assess contractual risk and present recommendations to executive leadership.
