Job summary

AM General LLC in South Bend, Indiana, seeks a Procurement Manager to lead the AFTC SCM team in sourcing, contracting and negotiating government contracts. You will oversee proposals, issue RFQs and ensure compliance with FAR while coordinating with Engineering, Materials, Pricing and Contracts to win new business.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field.
Knowledge of government procurement regulations, FAR.
Ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience managing procurement teams or SCM groups.
Working knowledge of SAP and other tools (SharePoint, Team Center).

Responsibilities

Process proposals for potential contracts and manage RFQ issuance.
Negotiate with supplier partners for best prices, quantities and delivery.
Create sub-contracts to cover SPLO requirements and expedite orders.
Supervise the AFTC SCM team to ensure timely processing of bids and POs.
Coordinate with Engineering, Materials, Pricing and Contracts to win new business.
Keep pricing updated in SAP with latest costs.
