Job summary

Saildrone is seeking an Account Manager, Ocean Mapping to drive business development and manage relationships with US Government agencies, focusing on the US Navy and NOAA. You will lead day-to-day engagement with key stakeholders, anticipate opportunities, manage bid development, and position Saildrone for follow-on work with internal hydrography experts.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in account management or business development within government contracting or marine/geospatial fields.
• Deep knowledge of USG mapping operations and NOAA/Navy data cycles.
• Experience managing long-term government relationships and capture strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Hydrography, Oceanography, Marine Science, Geomatics, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary contact for US government mapping clients (NOAA, Navy) and manage relationships.
• Track forthcoming orders and USG requirements to maintain competitive positioning.
• Lead expansion and capture for recompetes, follow-on contracts, and new task orders.
• Scope government requirements with hydrographic team to ensure pricing and delivery.
• Maintain CRM and sales pipeline tracking USG opportunities and budgets.
• Navigate federal contracting processes and coordinate with contracts team for proposals.
• Represent Saildrone at industry events to build brand and relationships.
• Report agency feedback and budget trends to guide sales strategy.
