Job summary

Marin Country Club seeks a Golf Course Superintendent to lead the agronomic program and oversee daily condition, presentation, and playability of the course. This role reports to the General Manager and is part of the senior management team, interfacing with leadership and committees.

The role requires California licensure, a strong background in turf management, and a track record of high-quality playing conditions at a discerning private club.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in agronomy, turf management, horticulture, plant science, or related field.
• 5–10 years of progressive agronomic leadership at a private club or resort is preferred.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality playing conditions.
• Experience managing a full maintenance team and a substantial budget.

Responsibilities

• Own the agronomic program from soil to surface for consistently high-quality conditions year-round.
• Stay current on turf research, pests, water management, and regional practices.
• Ensure safe, compliant chemical and fertilizer inputs with proper documentation.
• Lead, mentor, and develop the maintenance team and onboarding programs.
• Collaborate with Golf Operations, Club Management, and committees.
