Wintonbury Hills Golf Course, part of Troon, in Bloomfield, CT, seeks a full‑time Superintendent to lead agronomy operations with strong leadership and regulatory compliance. You will oversee budgeting, training, licensing, and coordination with staff to maintain turf standards and safety across the course.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in agronomy with 5–10 years’ experience, a pesticide license, and deep irrigation expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy.
• Five to ten years of related experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• State Pesticide Applicator License or ability to obtain upon hire.
• Expert irrigation principles and management.
• Ability to build and implement a fertility program.

Responsibilities

• Maintains Troon agronomy standards and regulatory compliance.
• Develops budgeting and capital plans; manages department expenses.
• Stays current on agronomic information and training needs.
• Leads training, coaching, and mentorship within the department.
• Interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and disciplines associates.
• Ensures safety practices and effective cross‑department communication.
