Job summary

The City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Golf Complex Superintendent to manage grounds maintenance for two 18-hole courses within the Golf Division. The position requires an Associate degree in Golf Course Turf Management or related field with six years of supervisory experience, a Texas Class C license, and the ability to obtain a pesticide

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Golf Course Turf Management or related field, plus six (6) years of experience supervising golf course grounds.
• Experience may substitute for the education up to two (2) years.
• Texas Class C Driver License required; ability to obtain/maintain pesticide applicator license.

Responsibilities

• Oversees turf maintenance for greens, roughs, fairways, and landscaping across two 18-hole courses.
• Plans cultivation, disease, insect, and weed control to optimize playing surfaces.
• Coordinates with golfers, associations, and staff to align turf management with tournaments and events.
