Our mission is to eliminate any barriers participants or caregivers experience while being part of a clinical trial. Mural Health is looking to expand our team with a Senior Golang Software Engineer!

Who are you? You are a results-driven individual who wants to see Mural Health grow! You are excited to be part of a dynamic, fast-paced environment and help a wide range of biotechs streamline their clinical trial payments. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work on both backend and frontend development, optimize code for performance, and contribute to system architecture discussions!

You will:

• Provide technical leadership on complex backend projects, ensuring adherence to best practices, clean architecture, and scalable design principles.
• Design, develop, and maintain efficient, scalable, and secure back-end systems, APIs, and databases using Golang.
• Implement data storage solutions, including relational databases, NoSQL, and caching technologies, optimizing for performance and scalability.
• Design and implement cloud-based architectures using AWS, with a focus on event-driven systems (e.g., SQS, Kafka).
• Develop and maintain APIs using RESTful or GraphQL principles, contributing to the technical design and execution.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including front-end developers, product managers, and designers, to ensure seamless integration of user requirements, wireframes, and technical components.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance bottlenecks, ensuring robust applications that meet high standards for auditability and traceability.
• Contribute to the documentation, review, and testing of code, ensuring high-quality code delivery through unit and integration tests.
• Mentor junior engineers, offering code reviews, and technical guidance, and fostering a culture of growth and continuous improvement.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, applying modern backend trends and cloud-based best practices.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of experience as a Backend Engineer, with a demonstrated ability to handle complex projects and technical challenges.
• Strong proficiency in Golang, with experience designing and building scalable, production-grade backend systems.
• Experience with AWS cloud environments, including serverless architectures, containers, and event-driven systems.
• Familiarity with database technologies like PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, Redis, etc.
• Experience designing and maintaining APIs (RESTful or GraphQL).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to debug and optimize complex systems.
• Strong communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience in software development with SaaS products or fintech is a plus.
