Job summary

Fanatics seeks a Senior Software Engineer to design, build, and operate platforms powering the Fan Ecosystem. You will own significant surface area end to end, mentor others, and contribute hands-on across Go services and front-end components.

You will work on Go for back-end services and contribute to TypeScript/React front ends, focusing on high-throughput, scalable systems in a fast-moving sports tech environment in New York.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven Go (Golang) production services experience.
• Backend design of REST and/or gRPC in a microservices setup.
• Strong JS/TS and React front-end experience.
• Experience with relational and NoSQL data stores and messaging.
• Familiarity with cloud infra, containers, CI/CD, and IaC.
• Solid observability, monitoring, and on-call practices.
• Proven track record delivering complex projects on schedule.
• Experience with Agile delivery and SCRUM, cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, document, and operate high-quality Go services and APIs.
• Own technical design of medium-to-large features and systems.
• Break down problems into deliverable work for engineers.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide constructive feedback.
• Set standards in code reviews for correctness and reliability.
• Mentor engineers and onboard new hires as a technical point of contact.
• Participate in on-call, incident response, and blameless post-mortems.
• Improve reliability, performance, and cost; define and track SLOs.
• Collaborate with product, design, and stakeholders to shape roadmaps.
• Help define engineering principles and best practices.
