Job summary

Cast AI, a remote-first automation platform for cloud-native infrastructure, is seeking a Go backend engineer. You will design, build, and operate backend services relied upon by multiple teams and customers, owning features end-to-end from conception through production rollout.

You will tackle trust-critical flows like authentication, authorization, billing, and real-time pricing across AWS, GCP, and Azure, while collaborating with a global team. Strong Go and Kubernetes skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals including clean abstractions and maintainable code.
• Production Go experience strongly preferred; other systems languages acceptable.
• Trust-critical systems experience: authentication/authorization, billing, or related data.
• Good API design practices: versioning, backward compatibility, auth, idempotency, async patterns.
• Debugging, optimization, and performance tuning in high-load environments.
• Hands-on Kubernetes experience: core concepts and cluster debugging/deployment.
• Experience with AI coding agents and agentic development workflows.
• Proven ability to drive a complex project end-to-end.
• Strong English, both oral and written.
• Startup mindset: adaptable, proactive, comfortable with ambiguity.
• Participation in on-call rotations when required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate backend services in Go that are reliable and correct.
• Own features end-to-end from design to production rollout.
• Debug complex production issues involving security, money, or trust-critical flows.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to solve non-textbook problems.
• Contribute to product direction and backlog planning.
