Job summary

Stacklok is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to help build Stacklok Enterprise on Kubernetes. You will design and ship core platform subsystems and write production Go code that runs in customers’ Kubernetes environments, with strong emphasis on observability, testing, and reliability.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with customers to operationalize the platform, and contribute to open-source ToolHive. A startup mindset and excellent communication are essential in this high-impact role.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Go with track record designing and shipping distributed systems.
• Hands-on experience deploying and running Kubernetes in production across customer environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
• Experience mentoring engineers, driving code reviews, and improving team quality.
• Experience working with customers to onboard and debug the product across environments.
• AI-first mindset with ability to integrate AI tools into development practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, able to explain complex technical ideas to diverse audiences.
• Startup mentality with self-direction and adaptability in fast-moving environments.

Responsibilities

• Own design and implementation of platform subsystems end-to-end, from design through production.
• Write production Go code for commercial software running in customer Kubernetes environments with observability and testing.
• Mentor engineers and balance design tradeoffs with leadership.
• Work with customers to operationalize the Enterprise Platform and feed feedback into product improvements.
• Collaborate on open-source ToolHive and contribute to shared work.
• Apply AI-assisted workflows to speed up engagements and build reusable tooling.
