Job summary

Alteryx, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Plane Transport team within Cloud Platform Engineering. You will design, build, and operate backend services and APIs in Go, focusing on secure connectivity across distributed cloud environments.

Expect ownership from design through production, with occasional frontend work in TypeScript/React. The role emphasizes scalable, reliable cloud-native services across AWS and GCP, plus collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong backend development experience using Go or a comparable backend language with productivity in Go.
• Experience designing, building, and operating production services using REST APIs, microservices, and distributed system architectures.
• Hands-on experience developing and operating cloud-native applications in environments such as AWS or GCP.
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including HTTP/TLS, TCP/IP, DNS, and service-to-service communication.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services, APIs, and distributed systems using Go.
• Lead secure connectivity solutions involving service registration, orchestration, and routing.
• Own complex technical initiatives end-to-end from design to production support.
• Design and improve cloud-native services across AWS and GCP with emphasis on scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
• Contribute to frontend applications using TypeScript and React when needed.
• Investigate and resolve complex issues spanning application code, cloud infrastructure, and multiple services.
• Drive improvements in automated testing, observability, monitoring, and operational readiness.
• Mentor other engineers and participate in code reviews and architecture discussions.
