Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Sr Staff Engineer in GNC to own critical program issues for the Sentinel program. Location: Roy, UT or Manhattan Beach, CA. Requires deep GNC expertise, leadership, and collaboration across IPTs with strong stakeholder coordination.

The role emphasizes root cause investigations, design reviews, MRB/FRB leadership, and driving schedule acceleration while maintaining performance budgets. US citizenship and Top Secret clearance required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Control Engineering or related STEM discipline
• 14 years of related experience
• Must be a US Citizen
• Active Top Secret Clearance current and within 6 years
• Ability to obtain SAP approval within company needs
• 14 years of experience in Guidance, Navigation & Controls or equivalent
• Strong hardware/software flight systems background
• Proficient in MS Office and JIRA/Confluence
• Willingness to travel to customer sites/test ranges

Responsibilities

• Own GNC issues from identification through resolution and flight test acceleration
• Lead root cause investigations and detailed resolution plans
• Coordinate daily with IPTs and with OCE for approvals
• Co-chair design reviews; adjudicate CRMs with USG
• Lead GNC MRBs and FRBs
• Direct test plan development, data collection, and analysis for GNC performance
• Communicate status/risks to senior leadership and customers
• Ensure outputs meet program quality standards and schedules
