KODA Technologies is seeking a GNC Navigation Engineer to design, simulate, analyze, and test navigation algorithms for a team in Huntsville, AL. Active Secret Clearance is required.

The role involves integrating IMUs, star trackers, cameras, and other sensors to produce robust navigation solutions within constrained environments. Strong C++ skills and collaboration across disciplines are essential.

Qualifications

• Post secondary STEM degree with 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience with extended Kalman filters, unscented Kalman filters, particle filters, or factor graphs.
• Experience with Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) in a multi-sensor navigation system.
• Good working knowledge of navigation architectures as part of a flight system involving closed-loop Guidance, Navigation, and Control software.
• Proficient in C++.

Responsibilities

• Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis of a navigation system as part of a broader system simulation.
• Lead the design of new algorithms or transition existing algorithms to produce software enabling accurate navigation.
• Use and apply multiple sensor fusion algorithms, including Kalman filters and factor graphs.
• Fuse simulated and real-world sensor inputs from inertial sensors, star trackers, cameras, altimeters, and other aiding sensors.
• Work with a multidisciplinary team to design innovative navigation systems balancing accuracy, environment, and cost.
• Present techniques, solutions, and results to the GNC team.
