Job summary

Castelion is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer (Navigation) to lead the development of high-speed navigation solutions for advanced defense systems. You will design and validate algorithms that fuse IMU data, star trackers, and GNSS, delivering robust state estimation in GPS-denied environments.

You will work with multidisciplinary teams to implement these algorithms in real-time embedded systems, perform extensive analysis, and contribute to hardware-in-the-loop and flight testing to ensure mission

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in navigation algorithm development, analysis and validation.
• Strong background in EKF and multi-sensor fusion.
• Experience with INS and GNSS/star trackers integration.
• Proficient in MATLAB/Simulink; 3DOF/6DOF simulation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop navigation algorithms for high-speed flight vehicles, including inertial navigation and alt-nav methods.
• Develop and implement multi-sensor fusion architectures using EKF and related estimation techniques.
• Integrate data from IMUs, star trackers, GNSS (when available) and other onboard sensors to provide robust state estimation.
• Collaborate with avionics, flight sciences, and flight software teams to integrate navigation algorithms into real-time embedded systems.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate navigation performance under GPS-denied conditions.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing, flight testing, and post-flight analysis.
