Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a GNC Systems Engineer to design, implement, and verify Guidance, Navigation, and Control for launch and reentry systems. You will develop trajectories, perform trade studies, and work with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to ensure reliable vehicle performance.

The role emphasizes advanced modeling with MATLAB/Simulink, strong control theory knowledge, and collaboration across disciplines in a safety-focused culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Aerospace/Mechanical/Electrical).
• 5+ years of experience in GNC design, development, and analysis.
• Experience constructing trajectories for launch/reentry vehicles.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of spacecraft/launch vehicle dynamics and control theory.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship or eligible status for Blue Origin employment.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and simulate GNC algorithms for launch and reentry vehicles.
• Develop and analyze vehicle trajectories from pre-launch to landing.
• Perform trade studies to optimize vehicle performance and GNC design.
• Develop and execute GNC verification and validation plans.
• Support integration and testing of GNC hardware and software.
• Analyze flight data to assess GNC performance and improvements.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a successful vehicle design.
