Job summary

General Atomics in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation and Control engineer to design GNC algorithms and six-DOF flight simulations for precision munition programs.

You will mentor GNC engineers, validate models, and prepare design reviews while collaborating with GA-EMS teams and customers. A DoD security clearance and willingness to work extended hours are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor, Master, or PhD in engineering with extensive experience.
• Strong understanding of GNC concepts for all flight phases.
• Experience with high-fidelity flight simulations of missiles/projectiles/hypersonic vehicles.
• Strong C/C++ coding and Git version control; FORTRAN is a plus.
• GNC performance analysis using MATLAB or Python.
• Ability to communicate concepts and coordinate complex projects.

Responsibilities

• Develops GNC algorithms and SIX-DOF flight simulations in C/C++ and FORTRAN.
• Supports development of precision munitions and hypersonic systems.
• Analyses simulation and test data for model validation and improvements.
• Leads and mentors GNC engineers on development efforts.
• Prepares design reviews and technical briefings.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
