Job summary

Blue Origin in Washington is seeking a senior GN&C engineer to design and implement guidance, navigation, and control algorithms for lunar and cis-lunar missions. You will develop and test flight software, perform trajectory trades, and collaborate across subsystems to ensure robust, safe operations.

Candidates should have extensive C/C++, Rust experience, and strong background in spacecraft dynamics, RPOD, and verification.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12+ years in aerospace engineering with a BS or 10+ years with an MS.
• Deep knowledge of astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, and attitude dynamics.
• Expertise in GN&C algorithm development for flight and attitude control.

Responsibilities

• Derive spacecraft guidance designs from mission trajectory concepts.
• Develop and sustain guidance algorithms for orbital maneuvers in various orbits.
• Create and test flight control algorithms for complex missions.
• Perform trade studies for maneuver targeting and RPOD sequences.
• Collaborate with subsystems to ensure design closure and performance.
• Develop and maintain software for flight systems and simulations.
• Integrate software in SIL/HIL environments and test rigorously.
• Code in Rust, C/C++, and Python for integrated simulations.
