Job summary

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems in Roy, Utah, seeks Principal or Sr. Principal GN&C Engineer to design guidance and control algorithms, develop high-fidelity flight simulations, and validate performance for aerospace systems.

The role requires collaboration across disciplines and a strong software focus on C++ and MATLAB. The position offers a 9/80 schedule, relocation assistance, and eligibility for a DoD Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM required; DoD Secret clearance or ability to obtain one.
• Experience developing autopilot algorithms for flight vehicles.
• Experience with guidance law design and trajectory shaping in MATLAB/Simulink.
• Proven ability to work in multidisciplinary teams (aero, structures, software).

Responsibilities

• Develop and mature G&C algorithms and guidance laws for trajectory shaping.
• Create high-fidelity 6-DOF flight simulations and integrate into flight software.
• Perform covariance and CEP analyses and validate G&C tools.
• Collaborate with GN&C teams in an Agile environment to meet milestones.
• Support transition of guidance algorithms into flight-worthy implementations.
