Job summary
Caterpillar Inc. in Peoria, IL, is seeking a Trade Compliance Analyst to support international trade operations and ensure compliance with import/export regulations.
You will partner with business teams to resolve questions, assess risks, and maintain required records. This role emphasizes data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration with logistics, legal, procurement, and finance, while staying abreast of changing trade rules.
Qualifications
- CCS or CES certification (or similar)
- Experience with multinational manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain organizations
- Knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, EAR, and global trade controls
- Experience with trade platforms like SAP GTS, Oracle Trade Management, Descartes
- Exposure to audit management and compliance testing
- Lean or continuous improvement experience
- Experience supporting cross-border logistics and customs brokerage
Responsibilities
- Evaluate import and export transactions for regulatory compliance
- Support day-to-day global trade operations and resolve issues
- Advise partners on international trade requirements and obligations
- Maintain trade records per regulatory requirements
- Analyze trade data, identify trends, and prepare leadership reports
- Assist internal audits and corrective action programs
- Support SOP development, updates, and compliance monitoring
- Investigate concerns and propose risk mitigations
- Collaborate with logistics, brokers, procurement, legal, finance, and supply chain
- Monitor regulatory changes and inform stakeholders
- Participate in trade compliance projects and process improvements
- Assist with import/export classifications and licensing controls
